Summer Reading

Concord Public Schools have partnered with the Concord Free Public Library on the 2020 Summer Learning Program. Running from June 15-August 29, this program is designed to keep kids learning and reading throughout the summer. 

To participate, register at Concord Beanstack. Students who register and read at least 6 books or complete 6 learning challenges will be eligible to receive two free homework passes in the fall. 

A list of suggested books for each grade level has been compiled in Sora, and there are additional suggestions available on this listSora allows you to check out ebooks and audiobooks and can be used across platforms: tablet, smartphone, or web-based on a computer.

Sora directions for Kindergarten, Grade 1, and 2: 

  • Watch a presentation and video with someone in your family to learn how to check out books using SORA. 
  • Log into SORA by searching for “Concord Public Elementary Schools.” Sign in using your first initial+last name+grad year (for example: jturner32).

Sora directions for Grades 3, 4, and 5:

  • Watch a presentation and video to learn how to check out books using SORA. 
  • Log into SORA by searching for “Thoreau Elementary School” and using your Concord Google credentials (ex: jturner29@concordps.org; password: same as Lexia)
