As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your wonderful partnership throughout this year. It has been an incredible journey for me in my first year here as the Principal of Thoreau, and your support has made all the difference. We have exciting opportunities lined up for students and families as we wrap up the year. From end-of-year celebrations and events to engaging activities that promote learning and fun, there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. We’re all looking forward to a 5th grade graduation ceremony and an opportunity to welcome incoming kindergartners and their families. Your collaboration, involvement, and dedication to our school community has helped to create a positive and enriching environment for all students to thrive in. Below you’ll find some additional pieces of information as well as photos from our April all-school meeting.

• Our revised 4th grade math MCAS schedule is as follows: Thursday 5/2 & Friday 5/3. All future dates will remain the same.
• The first playground committee meeting will be held this Wednesday 5/1 at 12pm in the Thoreau lounge.
• 5th grade graduation will take place on June 10th at 10:30am in the auditorium.
• Thank you for submitting your input into the student placement process. This valuable information has been used to create optimal classes. At this point class lists are finalized.
• You may have received an email regarding kindergarten registration. Once you enroll your incoming Kindergartener for the 2024-2025 school year at Thoreau, please reach out to kbyrne@concordps.org and lpetruno@concordps.org.
• After school gets out on June 13th, work will begin on replacing our rooftop HVAC units. This will require large heavy machinery to be present on campus and certain areas will be roped off for safety reasons.
