Elementary Progress Reports:  Classroom progress reports will be published through the Aspen Portal in the Published Reports section on the front page of the portal by 4:00 PM this afternoon. If you have multiple children attending Concord Public Schools or Concord-Carlisle High School, each child’s name will appear next to any available reports. Reports can be downloaded and saved as .pdf files if you wish. With the exception of specialized reports (Special Education or English Language Learner), reports will no longer be mailed. Turkey Trot:  Wednesday, November 21 st: One of our most beloved school traditions is only a few weeks away! We are thrilled to be hosting our 29th Annual Turkey Trot on Wednesday, November 21st from 11:10 AM-12:00 PM. The Turkey Trot is a non-competitive fun run, which begins with a pep rally in the gym at 11:10 (for safety reason, the rally is for students and staff only) and ends with the students chasing “Tom the Turkey” through the Thoreau school neighborhood, which will begin at 11:30. Happy fall! Although we had an unusually rainy first month of school, we are off to a wonderful and smooth start to the year. With Halloween approaching, I would like to let our new families know that we do not allow costumes at Thoreau. Instead, we spend the Friday before Halloween, enjoying the annual Monster Madness play performed by our own 5th grade students! Safety Drills: This month, we will begin the first of many of our emergency preparedness drills. If you have forgotten your Aspen account credentials or your account is locked, please email parentportal@concordps.org during business hours to have it reset.  For the privacy of all Thoreau students, please note that you will only see the placement for your child and not the roster for the class.   In addition to placements, you will also find a recommended, but not required, list of school supplies for each grade level in the portal. Fall is finally here!  We have enjoyed a fabulous first month of school and have been very busy settling back into routines and getting to know our new students. This month, we will begin the first of many of our emergency preparedness drills.  In collaboration with our School Resource Officer, Detective Scott Camilleri, our students and staff will begin practicing the following components of our district emergency plan:  Bus Evacuations, a Whole School Evacuation, a Fire Drill and a Lockdown Drill.
