Daily assignments will be postponed until Monday, April 6 as will regular feedback or check-ins.  We encourage families to explore the vast set of resources posted on the Supplemental Resource list at this link if you want to be academically oriented on Friday:  https://www.concordps.org/supplemental-educational-materials/.  There is rich, robust content on this list.  We are also exploring creative ideas for engagement and connection to be shared on Friday morning.  Thank you so much for the ongoing support as we reinvent every educational practice and process.

Coronavirus Update:  (as of 3/11/20) As the information about the COVID-19 continues to evolve we are reviewing each school event carefully.  Per Dr. Hunter’s latest update, “All non-essential large group events are cancelled for the next two weeks, beginning tomorrow. Emails from each school will notify you of the specific cancellations. We are following Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidance found at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-prevention-and-treatment” Regarding Thoreau-specific events: The third grade field trip to the Concord Museum scheduled for tomorrow will take place. The Spelling Bee scheduled for 3/14 is cancelled. The 4th grade (Burns/Dillon classes) trip to the STEAM Lab scheduled for 3/10

Elementary Progress Reports: On February 11th classroom progress reports will be published through the Aspen Portal in the Published Reports section on the front page of the portal. If you have multiple children attending Concord Public Schools or Concord-Carlisle High School, each child’s name will appear next to any available reports. Turkey Trot:  Wednesday, November 27th: One of our favorite school traditions is only a few weeks away!  We are thrilled to be hosting our 30th Annual Turkey Trot on Wednesday, November 27th from 11:40 AM-12:00 PM. The Turkey Trot is a non-competitive fun run/walk, which begins with a pep rally in the gym at 11:30 (for safety reason, the rally is for students and staff only) and ends with the students chasing “Tom the Turkey” through the Thoreau school neighborhood, which will begin around 11:40.  Please contact Nurse Mosher or your child’s teacher if your student requires accommodations for this event. Thank you to all parents/guardians who attended our Back to School Night.  I want to offer special appreciation to those volunteers who came out to support the PTG-sponsored sales of Thoreau gear, Directories and the SEPAC representatives, thank you! I would like to thank all of our families for a wonderful school year! I wish you a relaxing, fun-filled, summer vacation and look forward to welcoming your children back to Thoreau in August. The last day of school is Friday, June 14th. Dismissal is at 12:30pm. First day of school for students for the 2018-2019 School Year is Wednesday, August 28th.Students will attend school on Wednesday, August 28th and Thursday, August 29th.  School will be closed Friday, August 30 for the long Labor Day weekend.
